Chelsey Boll by Justin Bercasio
Photographer Justin Bercasio and photographer-model Chelsey Boll created this intimate portrait photography series during a break from shooting travel photographs in Hawaii.
What began as an attempt by Chelsey to create self-portraits on a hotel balcony developed into a collaborative series combining both photographers’ visual approaches and the spontaneity of the moment.
In the middle of a busy week of travel photography in Hawaii, Chelsey Boll began experimenting with self-portraits on the balcony of their hotel room. Without a tripod and working only with a remote trigger, she found that the images did not fully match the vision she had in mind.
She eventually asked Justin Bercasio to step behind the camera and help develop the idea further.
The resulting photographs became a collaboration between their individual styles, created with the intention of preserving the natural atmosphere and authenticity of the moment.
