Donari Braxton (b.1982) is Brooklyn-based filmmaker and photographer. He’s received support and awards from NPR, SFFS, IFP, Film Independent, and Berlinale Talents, and has directed commercially for such companies as Mercedes Benz, GQ and HBO. In 2015, the narrative feature he wrote and produced, “Out of My Hand,” premiered at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival and was theatrically released by Ava Duvernay’s ARRAY pictures in November 2015. He was later nominated for the John Cassavetes Film Independent Spirit Award for his work on this project. Most recently, he was awarded San Fransisco Film Society’s 2016 KRF Screenwriting Grant & Fellowship for his narrative feature film debut in development, “Above.” His images and editorials have appeared in such places as GQ, Details, Surface, BPM, Anthem magazines amongst others. He lives with his wife in Brooklyn.
