Andja Lorein

French model Andja Lorein talks about modeling, creativity and confidence in this LIONS Art Magazine interview, accompanied by a selection of nude art and fashion photographs.

Originally from Mont-de-Marsan in southwestern France, Andja describes modeling as something that developed naturally into a passion, with lingerie and fine art nude photography among the genres she particularly enjoys.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in a small town called Mont-de-Marsan.

What inspired you to get into this industry?

At first it was my mother who wanted me to be a model, but then it became my passion. It feels easy and natural to me.

Describe yourself in a few words.

I am a very simple and authentic girl. I love nature, clean air and sun. I laugh all the time and I love giving love around me. My only goal in life is to be just, to love and be loved.

I think Instagram is more suited to a model.

Who is your favorite designer?

I don’t have one in particular, but I love Stephane Rolland.

Bikini or Monokini?

Naked or Monokini, ha ha!

Champagne or Gin Tonic?

Champagne.

What’s your favorite dessert?

I love chocolate!

Heels or flats?

Flats.

Do you have a beauty secret?

My food and my workout.

Which has been your most memorable shooting?

I have many, especially shoots with my friends Jean-François Verganti and Gilles-Marie Zimmerman.

With which person, dead or alive, would you like to have dinner?

My boyfriend or Anthony Hopkins.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Desserts.

What do you find sexy in a man?

Humor and self-control.

Are you a party person?

Not always, just from time to time.

What is your sign?

Scorpio.

What is your favorite holiday destination?

Anywhere, as long as I’m with my boyfriend.

If you could choose one superpower, which one would it be?

Stop the war on Earth.

Did you always want to become a model?

No, it began when I was 20 years old.

How old were you when you had your first kiss?

I am not sure, but I think I was 13.

What are you thankful for?

All my life, my health, my boyfriend, my body and my house.

Who would you like to be for one day?

A supermodel.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

I don’t know, maybe 20.

What do you get complimented on the most?

My beauty, and as a model my talent and my acting.

What advice do you have for other aspiring models?

Do not give up and make the difference between your mind and your body.

Who are some of your favorite photographers?

Stefan Rappo and Julien Vallon.

How has modeling changed other aspects of your life?

It helped me to become more self-confident.
